The Smith Machine

The hammer mill is a museum in Naichen Naichen, a district of Neuburg an der Kammel in the district of Günzburg in Bavaria. The museum is a branch of the Swabian folk museum at Oberschönenfeld Gessertshausen Augsburg district, part of the District of Swabia. Both buildings, the hammer mill and later after its owner called Stockerhof were built in 1839 and have changed substantially since that time, hardly. Probably because of the operation of the forge alone is not enough to survive, from which each operated a small farm or blacksmith. Therefore, the Stockerhof originally not only the home of the blacksmith, but was also home to the barn and the barn. In 1860 the property went into the possession of the family Stocker. It was not until the year 1932, the forge and agriculture from different owners were managed. Since then, the Smith lived on the first floor of the forge building. Only since the District has acquired the Stockerhof Swabia, the agricultural estate and the hammer mill buildings are back in one hand. In the hammer mill and agricultural machinery workshop can be viewed at the original location, as the workshop looked around in 1975. The machines in the forge, which are driven by water power of Kammel come mostly from 1922. On the first floor of the forge, the blacksmith of the last apartment owners will be viewed in original restoration. The Stockerhof was, as described in history, the original home of the forge with a small farming. The farm combined residential, stable and barn area under one roof. Since 1990, the hammer mill can be visited as a museum. A year later the District of Swabia Stockerhof was purchased, was repaired by listed status in 1996 and 1998 and converted for use as a museum. The Stockerhof is used for special exhibitions and events.
