I was surprised recently by a BBC article which shows that sitting up straight, as it is generally recommended to do, is actually bad for your back!. Scottish and Canadian researchers have used magnetic resonance imaging to demonstrate that this posture to 90 degrees imposes an unnecessary strain on our backs. According to information provided by these experts at the Radiological Society of North America, the best sitting at a desk is tilted backward 135 degrees. This research was conducted at Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen with 22 voluntary healthy back that were scanned with a positional MRI machine that allows patients the freedom to sit or stand during the examination. Under this test, candidates assumed three seating positions: one leaning forward at least 70 degrees (as if they were leaning on their desks or playing console games), the other back straight at 90 degrees and the last of a more relaxed, or tilted back to 135 degrees. The researchers then took the measure of the angle of the spine, the height and movement of records from one position to another. The movement of the disc occurs when a voltage is placed on the column, pushing them out of their position, as is the case when one carries a weight, for example. However, they discovered that the movements were more pronounced discs to an upright position, sitting at 90 degrees, and less pronounced than tilted back to 135 degrees. They conclude that to protect your back from the wear caused by long hours sitting in your day, it is recommended that you sit in a relaxed position, leaning back to 120 degrees. aaaah, that's something I'll always need. Although the organization has never been my cup of tea, I just can not see this mess and would like a remedy for it. But how can this cost? someone has an idea?.
